Speaker 1:

Hey guys, this is Chris. I just wanted to put this in before the episode that you're about to hear. Lisa and I were on a phone call today discussing how we haven't gone over our goals and wishes for 2024 yet, and we decided to record the call. Unfortunately, there's a little bit of audio issues on my end because my AirPods suck and we weren't using microphones this time. So I really hope that you enjoy the episode, but it's not an issue that will continue into the new year, and I wish you all the best for 2025. Yes, I'm hoping I'll see if it can work, cause I was like, if we are gonna open the emails now, let's record this call and then we can add it to the episode. I will edit the episode.

Speaker 1:

I will finally do it. I swear to god, and then um, we'll put this at the end okay.

Speaker 2:

Well then, let me go to the bedroom so I can plug my phone in I really hope that this actually gets recorded, though if it doesn't, then whatever I've have you. Is this your first time recording it?

Speaker 1:

I've recorded other calls but I actually haven't gone and listened. Listened to them, I think it works.

Speaker 2:

I don't know. We're going to find out.

Speaker 1:

I was recording calls when I was calling the brick because I was having massive couch issues, and then I was like you know what, I don't care, I'm recording all these calls. But then it wasn't until I talked to my brother that I'm like oh well, they all know I was recording.

Speaker 2:

Then yeah, it gives you. It gives you the heads up that it's going to dear.

Speaker 1:

I'm going in here okay, love you, unless you're calling a 1-800 number, because, like the thing doesn't let you record until someone answers. But when you're calling a 1-800 number, it starts when the automated voice picks up. Oh, those people wouldn't know, right okay, let me get on just so in case I keep this in, just so that everyone knows that there I do not record phone calls from my friends. I recall 1-800 phone call numbers, like if I'm talking to a brick or anything important oh, I gotta plug in.

Speaker 2:

So, because I was making my video comparing like the start of this year to the end of this year, because today is somehow the end of this year and I was like I want to look through my email and then I went to open it and I was like I feel like I should do this with Chris. So here we are.

Speaker 1:

This is why I called you. Yeah, I'm trying. I'm just getting the emails. Where did we put that goals and wishes? Oh my god, we actually did do it yes, but did we do it? Yeah, probably not. Are we reading each other's again?

Speaker 2:

uh, like you want to read yours and I'll read mine, or you want to flip?

Speaker 1:

whatever you want we normally flip like I'll read you yours, but I don't care, okay, yeah, let's flip right now okay, let's flip.

Speaker 2:

I've opened.

Speaker 1:

I've opened your email up okay, I will go into yours. Do you want me to go first?

Speaker 2:

um sure I don't remember anything that I put in there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, every year I always remember what I put in, but this year I'm drawing a blank and I think I'm going to have a bad time.

Speaker 2:

I know I don't remember what I put at all. I feel like overall, this year was a pretty good year, but like I also don't know what I wanted to accomplish 12 months ago.

Speaker 1:

so yeah, see, I want to say I really hated 2024, but like and normally I don't say that about years, I don't think I say because it's just like you know what happened, happened but I'm really sick that I'm still having injuries and whatnot like being off again during the Christmas season is really rough for me. Um, but yeah, I, there's a lot of like fun things that happen. Like, honestly, I stayed with you for 10 days. Like 10 days, oh my god. Yeah, I had a dream. Okay, you know what doesn't matter right now. This is getting off topic but like.

Speaker 1:

I definitely had a dream about that, where you and I were actually living together, but with Harper and Brendan and everyone. In like a house or an apartment, because it was in your current place.

Speaker 2:

Oh my gosh, there's not enough space here for all of us.

Speaker 1:

It was not fun and I was not allowed to bring my stuff with me. You guys did it. Oh my God, guys did it oh, my god, oh man.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so before we get into it, just a reminder for everybody that the difference between goals and wishes wishes are things that, like, we have control of, or no, no, goals are things that we have control of, that we would like to achieve for the year. Wishes are things that it could be out of our control, but we would like this to happen, basically, putting the good-ness vibes out in the universe and hopefully they come back to us. So let's see if they came back to us. Do you want to go first? You want?

Speaker 1:

me to go. First I'll read out yours. I really love how, in your email, you put a bunch of dots and then you said I'm putting this here so I don't see a notification. Oh no, did it stop what was? Oh no, did it stop?

Speaker 2:

maybe it's just reminding you that it's still yeah, it's still recording, so it's probably a notification to remind you.

Speaker 1:

Oh okay, yeah, we're good, we're good. Um, these are my goals and wishes for 2024. I have said time and time again how a goal without a plan is just a wish, so I will also be noting how I want to accomplish them. Oh so goals lose 50 pounds this year. That would probably be about a pound a week.

Speaker 2:

After I went on sexenda in June, that did happen. I tried for the start of the year, really struggled, and then went to get help. So I did lose 25 pounds this year from my highest weight of this year. So I will take that as achieved, because when I wasn't reaching it and I was trying to, I got help. So I'm gonna check that off, you know what like.

Speaker 1:

I think that it's great that everyone's honest, but I think we have to stop giving complete um, what is what is the like? Everything too sexended, everything too ozempic, because it's just like great. I'm so glad people are on it, and me too, and I'm so glad that people are like accomplishing things they didn't think were possible in the past.

Speaker 1:

But I have still gained weight on ozempic and if you're not putting in the effort with your eating and your movement, it's not going to do anything oh, I totally agree so we have to stop giving all of the praise to these things, like I'm not saying that's what you were doing, but it's like, well, once I was on a sexenda it's like, well, maybe it's something that flipped in your mind also when you went on sexenda, that it was just like okay, well, now that I'm on this, I'm going to put in more effort, but it's the effort that you put in that made that sexenda work.

Speaker 2:

I 100% agree with you. I'm more so. Just say, after I got help, I'm not saying it was, it was the tool. You know what I mean, and it's just. It's no different than like like weight loss surgery. It's a tool to help you and what you need to do. But it's still the thing.

Speaker 1:

I'm agreeing with what you're saying no, no, I totally get it, but it's like sometimes people flip. But like when I went I'm totally getting off topic but when I got my mental health diagnosis and for everyone out there, one of them was binge eating disorder. I'm not talking about the other um, I thought that would make me flip, where I was like, well, now there's a reason and I can do this. And then I was like, oh, so that's the reason, and then continue to eat. I am like in a really deep depression right now. Like Lisa, you can kind of I don't reach out to you as much as I used to because I'm just like I don't want to put my negativity out into the world you know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

I get that. Yeah, honestly, I I noticed it, but, like, I also noticed that I haven't been reaching out, but that's because, well, you know how freaking busy I am right now.

Speaker 1:

So, um, okay, drinking water, three to four liters a day ah, you dumb bitch did not do that seriously, though, and you know what's so stupid? You what the ice machine will help you, I should invest today.

Speaker 2:

Honestly, I was literally just saying to Corey last night Hi, corey, I was literally just saying last night that like that needs to be my one and only goal for 2025. Because, like I am, it's such a struggle and, like I know, it's affecting my body, like I'm a carrying weight aside, because I am carrying water weight and that was the point I was gonna make. But, honestly, that's not the only point. I can feel I'm dehydrated. Ask me how much water I've drank today. Not a damn drop, like, and it's noon, like it. The only time I drink water is when I'm at the gym and then I tell myself I should drink water today and I fill my. The only time I drink water is when I'm at the gym and then I tell myself I should drink water today and I fill my water bottle and I drink it once with breakfast and that's it. Like that is something I need to fix, mostly for my health and like, let's be honest, for pooping.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, oh God. No, my water consumption is awful. At work it's better because, like, I only carry a water bottle in my vest with me, but here it's awful. And I got an ice machine for Christmas and I'm like, great, this will help for the cryo cuff. I haven't used it on the cryo cuff yet and I've just been drinking water and I'm like, wow, so if I just had ice this whole time, and it's not the same as getting ice from my freezer, because you know that requires effort.

Speaker 2:

Yes, that's like when people are like get a water drinking app, no, because now I have to track shit on an app. We're adding more effort to think like there's something I'm already not putting effort in yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1:

So the ice machine, like it, doesn't keep the ice cold, but the thing is is it makes the cold, but the thing is is it makes the ice and then the reservoir is underneath it, so it just recycles the water that's melting out of the ice into new ice. So you just send me the link for the one that you got. For sure, you can put the ice in there into your freezer, but I don't have any room, so that's why it's like I'm not doing that. Anyway, I'm filling the cup with ice and then pouring water over it, and it's the greatest thing ever. My cousin used to say, shannon, you know her that I, she, won't drink water without it being like super, super ice water, and I get it now it just makes so much sense and I know people out there gonna be like it's when you know good for you, I don't care water's water.

Speaker 2:

I'm investing. I'm investing. I'm leaving the house after this call.

Speaker 1:

Well, I'll search the one that I got and then I'll find you either that one or one similar, because there also sometimes is deals online.

Speaker 2:

Nice, I'm in for it.

Speaker 1:

Okay, we are only on number two. This might be a phone episode.

Speaker 2:

A phone episode. This is so much easier than turning on my computer and trying we could play stardew while we're recording.

Speaker 1:

Now I wonder how, oh god, seriously, every single live I come across the stardew, I like my whole phone is just like you, like stardew now, don't you?

Speaker 2:

that's an update you guys didn't get, but, like when chris was here, I showed her stardew and we played pretty much the whole time she was here, aside from when we watched what was that movie. We watched Practical Magic and then, oh, speaking about magic, wicked is on streaming services to buy and rent today.

Speaker 1:

No way, then I might do that, because I still haven't seen it in theatre.

Speaker 2:

I will be buying it on Prime and watching it about seven or eight times over the next two days.

Speaker 1:

Oh my god, god, we should have a prime watch party. Oh my god, watch party. Please, let's do that. I think I said it, but I didn't hear it until I said it, and then I got oh my god, I love that.

Speaker 2:

Okay, we gotta read these. It's been 10 minutes, oh my god okay um eating.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God Okay Um eating more veggies and protein. I did do that Great.

Speaker 2:

That's a thing.

Speaker 1:

That's good. There is something I was going to say about that, but Rams and I are switching our meal plan come January 1st. We will talk about that after um stay in a calorie deficit. That doesn't mean there are days here and there.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like I feel like overall I was doing a pretty good job. If I wasn't in a deficit, I wouldn't have been losing weight, so I'm taking that as a checkmark, okay.

Speaker 1:

So that was just like your goals out of list one. No, no, no, out of list one. I had more goals. You have three lists, holy shit. Yeah, so two love myself again, holy shit. Yeah, so two love myself again. Uh, it says I felt more in love for myself when I took care of myself. Um, I wonder why it's written this way. I think that the first one was more eating and stuff. Yeah, I see the way that you did this now.

Speaker 1:

Okay, the next one is go to the gym yeah, oh, I did so well for the gym this year you really did, like I was noticing that, yeah, you did, and also that you were still going to the gym when I was there, like that normally is such a slippery slope when I'm there oh my gosh.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I was like three in the morning waking up, going to the gym and Chris was.

Speaker 1:

I'm like who are? What is this? Are you a ghost in the kitchen? Okay affirmations.

Speaker 2:

No, I didn't stick with my affirmations.

Speaker 1:

I have to try and do affirmations, because one of the things that, like in therapy, we're talking about is this is not about me. Why am I making this about me? But, anyway, um is my negative self-talk. I do it all the time oh, am I like?

Speaker 2:

did I write my three goals and these were my plans, under my goals? So like for me to lose my weight? Those were my plans, I guess so? And now this to love myself. This was my plan to love myself oh yes yes it is.

Speaker 1:

I'm picking up what I'm laying down okay.

Speaker 2:

So for the first goal, I did pretty much stick to my plan for the most part. For the second goal, I did not stick with my affirmations. I was going to the gym, though I was very consistent with the jump, and I even started running this year, which I went for a run on Friday after getting my new shoes, that's awesome.

Speaker 1:

I still can't believe that you run Me, neither Like I should do that. Sometimes people take such offense to that, but you literally said on the podcast yourself, if you see me running.

Speaker 2:

If you ever see me running, I've been abducted by aliens.

Speaker 1:

I'm more like I remember it in the way of like someone's chasing me, so run too, okay, shower more.

Speaker 2:

I did do better with that one as well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, Honestly, like God right now, like my hair's gone a week without being washed, but you know depression.

Speaker 2:

Okay, yeah, honestly, I've been telling myself I need to shower for the last two days and it's just been again. I'm just so busy, like that's the thing. Honestly, this was the biggest thing. This is a. This might be a TMI, we listen, we don't judge moment right here. But I got out of the shower the other day and then went to get dressed and I was, um, I had one pair of clean underwear left. I had to dig in like three clean laundry baskets to find a pair of underwear because I've been so focused on I'm so focused on work, I'm so focused on Brandon's birthday, I'm so focused on taking care of Harper. Harper's laundry's is done, no problem, because I know I need to prioritize that and that's the thing for Harper and I need to take care of Harper. But taking care of myself over the last like two months has just plummeted and it's like I just need to focus on other things. So I did a load of laundry yesterday. That was just all underwear.

Speaker 1:

Well, I mean, like dude, you guys had a lot and also kind of like your life was on pause that time in November, like cause you said the last two months your life was on pause for that 10 days because, like you had me, that was just in the middle of your living room like disrupting.

Speaker 2:

It wasn't disruptive at all Harper still comes out of her bedroom and goes's aunt chris. She went home like six weeks ago my heart melts.

Speaker 1:

I miss her. Oh, she's so cute, but she won't play with me. No, one day.

Speaker 2:

Okay, um, go get my hair cut by someone oh, didn't do that, although, okay, I did get my brother to come cut my hair, but I did not go get my hair cut professionally, which I wish I would have. Not no offense to my brother, I just it was one of those things where it was something I wanted to do but I just I couldn't do it financially. Honestly, it's not that I couldn't get it like work, the budget to do it, but like I couldn't justify it financially.

Speaker 1:

You know what I mean yeah, when was the last time you got your hair professionally cut?

Speaker 2:

oh god, like 10 years ago, what, oh yeah oh, my dear god yeah, like okay, and now people are probably judging me.

Speaker 1:

I get it, people can cut their own hair. People have their friends cut their hair. I get it, but I am, oh no, I don't it, people can cut their own hair people have their friends cut their hair.

Speaker 2:

I get it, but I am, I didn't, I wasn't, I didn't take offense or anything to that. Yeah, the last time I went to go get my haircut and I'm talking anywhere like leave to go get my hair cut and pay for it like from a first choice or even high-end salon or anything like that like it's been at least 10 years dude you are gonna have such a shock when you see the prices versus 10 years ago. Oh, yeah, oh yeah.

Speaker 1:

You're going to have, you're going to go there and go. This is why I cut my hair.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, this literally it's why I cut my hair and it's like I've just seen so many hacks on TikTok now that it's like I put it up, I cut it, I'm done and it doesn't look bad. And plus, plus, I cut my hair like once a year, and then I miss it and regret that. I cut it and it's just a vicious cycle that happens every year. This year, my goal not cut my hair. I am not going to cut my hair this summer. I, if I want to cut my hair, it has to be after summer and it has to be professionally done. That is, drinking water and not cutting my hair are the two goals that I have for 2025.

Speaker 1:

Oh man, like you know, you don't wear your hair dead straight though, like I do, and it would be so noticeable if I cut my own hair, but, like with yours, like I've never noticed that. The only time I really notice that people have cut their own hair is if they chop the whole thing rather than doing little sections, oh yeah. Or if they cut their own bangs Like the whole thing rather than doing little sections, or if they oh yeah or if they cut their own bangs.

Speaker 1:

Like normally when someone cuts their own bangs I can tell, unless they're so close to a professional. But yeah, this one time a long time ago, like over like 15 years ago, that I cut my own bangs and I thought they were so great. And then I saw the pictures later and I was like why did no one tell me?

Speaker 1:

why, why did no one tell me they were completely uneven all throughout it, like it wasn't even that. It went sideways, it was like a normal cut, and then it went up high and then, oh my god, okay, okay, let's get back on it. Your third thing is read 15 books oh, I read 25.

Speaker 2:

holy, I just went through that yesterday. We were going okay, so I did use Audible.

Speaker 1:

So Lisa doesn't have time for anything. She can read 25 books in a year. I'm like maybe one a month.

Speaker 2:

Listen, I was just going to say I was including Audible in my books because it was more just like I just didn't want to focus on just video games or watching TV or something like that. Like TV show wise, I don't think I actually watched like any TV shows this year, but Audible was. I was listening to books that I have read in the past while I was working as my background thing instead of music. I was listening to it while I was playing video games. I was listening to my books while I was in the car, like so it was more of an entertainment thing, not necessarily actually reading thing. So I was able to. I read 22 books but reread four of them. So it was 25 books, three books I guess I reread total this year. I just went through that last night. That's how I knew that so quickly.

Speaker 1:

You did also put in here that this can be audible or reading, but must be over 15 new books, not ones I've already read.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh, perfect. So 22 new books, 25 books total. That's so cool. Oh my God, I'm so proud of myself.

Speaker 1:

It also did say, like your ways of doing that was making a list of books you want to read and it's okay to not finish a book if you don't like it oh, I did that too.

Speaker 2:

There was, there was a, there was a series that I was reading, and I got to the fifth book and I was like this book, um okay. So your wishes okay um a vacation, oh no you hosted me on my vacation I didn't go anywhere or do anything, but I mean like I took all my vacation time, but I didn't. So yeah that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, um, brandon plans a cute date at some point.

Speaker 2:

Oh, did Brandon plan a cute date? No, he didn't plan a cute date. But I did come home the one time and he was like Don't look in the kitchen, just go in the bathroom. I'm like why, what did you do? And I go in there and he like drew a bath for me with like bath salts and the bath bomb and everything. And then after my bath I came out and he made homemade barbecue chicken pizza and it was really cute. So it wasn't like an us date, it was like a here's time for you, which was really good that is.

Speaker 1:

He wins the husband of the year for that one dude. Was he watching an episode of friends and got that from chadler?

Speaker 2:

so, for on valentine's day I told him I want something cutesy and he got me. Um, he was gonna do this bath thing, but then it was the time of the month so he wasn't able to do it, so we were like, it's fine, we'll have it another time, and it was just a few weeks ago that he did it, so it's so cute. I love that. Yeah, um, it was much needed too, because I was just getting home from work and work has just been insane lately and I've been beating myself up a lot about stuff that's going on with work. So it was just it was good timing, it was really good uh harper stays happy.

Speaker 2:

Oh, she's the happiest she's so nice, she's the greatest.

Speaker 1:

Remember what they taught us in inside out. It's okay to be sad sometimes oh yeah, oh yeah, 100.

Speaker 2:

She definitely has sad moments. We were watching the holiday earlier today and it was the part where, um, what's her face? The british one she was, I can't remember the names right now she was um telling Miles Jack Black how she was really upset. Um, about Jasper, like she was talking about like how he's dating this other woman. And then she like starts getting really sad and Harper just turns to me and mom and she just goes is she sad? We're like, yeah, she's sad. And then Harper just makes a sad face. Watching this movie I'm like you don't even understand.

Speaker 1:

She's so empathetic, like she's the sweetest, but yeah, that is your whole thing. Wow, you actually had a great one.

Speaker 2:

I did not think I had as good of a year as I thought I did. But, like, looking at what I wanted to achieve and looking where it did end, it does make me go though, like at the end of this year, before reading that, I was like I feel like I didn't accomplish anything. So, like now when I'm setting my goals for 2025, it's like what do I need to do to make it so that I do feel accomplished at the end of the year?

Speaker 1:

You know what I mean? Yeah, for sure I got something for my next year from you. Is that like the book thing I like? So, but not that many.

Speaker 1:

I want to try and implement that, because Rams, for my birthday, got me a Kindle and then I also have books. Because, like my tradition, every time I'm over to see you or if I've just gone to Toronto, I buy two books from the airport, because they're two for $40 and I don't know, it's just become a tradition of mine that when I leave the Toronto airport I get these books, so I have two new ones I need to accomplish love that Brandon got me a Kobo for Christmas.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I have to set some stuff up on it still, but I still can't believe. My goal was 15 books and I read 25 yeah, that's crazy, that's so great wow oh, and like literally looking back on tv shows, the only thing I watched and quotations watch was one tree hill, and it was like I had it on in the background while I was doing stuff, so I didn't even watch it.

Speaker 1:

So like I didn't watch any tv shows this year, it's awesome yeah, rams and I just watch reruns like I can't focus on tv anymore. Right, that's, it's so boring yeah, like I would actually rather him watch movies he hasn't watched, that I've watched, like the other day we watched both Trons, like the one from 1983 and the one from 2010.

Speaker 1:

And I've seen both, so it was more for him, but like I also really love the Tron movies, so it was a good thing Fun fact, brandon's of my first date was going to watch Tron in theaters?

Speaker 2:

No way of my first date was going to watch Tron in theaters no way. Yeah, that's cool, which is crazy that you say it was 2010, because that means that was 15 years ago.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's nuts. I think the most cringiest date I ever went to that involved a movie was going to see Valentine's Day on Valentine's Day and I was like this sucks, there's something about Valentine's Day. I don't like the movie or the day the day and I the movie or the day the day. Oh god, the movie sucks um.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but I love those kinds of movies they're not good, but the ones where everybody knows everybody, those ones are my favorites what like love?

Speaker 1:

actually like big cast yes, okay, love actually is probably my least favorite one out of all of them you know I like big cast movies, but not where they all like are part of each other like but they do intertwine at some point, like. The movie crash is probably one of my most favorite movies because it's just so. It makes me cry every time. Have you seen it?

Speaker 1:

no, I'll have to add that one to my list. Okay, dude, like I won't give it away, but people out there might know what I'm talking about. There's this scene with this dad and his child and every single time I watch this scene I cry like a mother effer, but like, even though I know what's happening, I still cry like I just oh god, anyway, did you see my Instagram story of my yes that I made? Oh my god, yes, I love it for one, this is the easiest one, and that doesn't mean it's easy. It's the easiest one that I've done and it's freaking gorgeous. Like it's so cute. I love it so much. If anyone is ever interested in getting a book, get the garden one with the see-through walls. Oh my gosh, it's awesome yeah, I love it.

Speaker 2:

All. Right, are you ready for this? Yeah, okay, we. You did wishes first, so we're gonna start with your wishes. Uh, and you did four wishes and five goals, jesus what's wrong with me? I was probably giving myself the opportunity to get one okay, wishes number one uh, my mom and I get along and have a good drama.

Speaker 1:

Free cruise in may I mean like, yeah, it was good, um no, it was a good cruise, but, like you know, it's me and my mom, so me and my mom happened a couple times, but it could have been worse though it could have been much worse because your mom and you were still talking after the cruise. So like it could have been worse yeah, um.

Speaker 2:

Number two, to have a new to me, car I don't know what your breakfast is for to me like a new to you, so like not brand new.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, okay, no, and this has been on my list every single year. We've done this and I still have the same car. So you know what? We're turning this into a positive by going. My car has made it the last three years and I can't Wait. Knock on wood, because now it's going to break down Like wow, I need to get it in clare. Um number three that val goes into remission. Oh god, val died. Uh, val died the day before, not the day before but, she died right before my birthday.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's so sad.

Speaker 2:

Oh, don't make me cry, let's go to the next one before I cry okay, uh, for not be upset when I turn 40, not be upset when I turn 40, y'all.

Speaker 1:

Spoiler alert she was upset oh my god, it was the worst thing that happened to me, and now all I keep thinking is dude, it's six months, it's less than six months before I'm 41. I'll be fully into my 40s at that point girl.

Speaker 2:

This is exactly what I was saying this week, because mom and I were talking about these things and I was just like here's the thing I'm 30, but this year, like this coming year, I'll be in my 30s. You know what I mean. Like there's a difference between I'm 30 and I'm in my 30s okay, I need to tell you something. I know you're 40s.

Speaker 1:

I'm just saying no, no, no, that's not it okay, makes fun of if you keep looking at me like that, I'm gonna smash that smile off you.

Speaker 1:

Ram, you know, was six younger than me, so he's always like, made the joke when I'm like when I turned 30, even 30. And then, of course, when 40 happened, is even more so when I'm talking to you and telling you that he passed by this open area with this smug smirk, like a mischievous smirk, on his face. And when I said, like you know, I'll be fully into my 40s, he whispered and said you already are. You're an ass. It took me everything not to interrupt you and call him a fucking dick oh man are you ready for your goals?

Speaker 2:

yeah, okay, uh, number one hike gross, grind again, hopefully under three hours and 30 minutes if I could just go a season without being injured, that would be great yeah, that's fair, that's next year definitely. You totally can. I still love that you did it before. I wish like I don't know. I'm not gonna say anything, because the last time I said something I ended up starting to run.

Speaker 1:

So no, it's okay, it's just when I'm when I'm upset about that, I just try and remind myself that it's like hey, you know what you did it, and like there's a lot of people that either won't do it or won't do it again after their first time and I even said that that I wouldn't do it again.

Speaker 1:

But the fact that I had the ambition to do it, like I'm so proud of myself, I'm just really upset that I can't go a year without being injured. Yeah, I get what you mean, and on my lower extremities, like if I was injured on my upper it would be fine, but it's always my legs or feet.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I get what you mean.

Speaker 1:

Uh, number two stay away from food apps I think I was the queen of them this year. No, no, and actually that is a goal that rams and I have together for next year, because we have vegas coming up next year and like it costs an arm and a leg, and so I just want to be in the best financial situation and in the best like health.

Speaker 1:

Wise meaning, like you know, just because, like what I do, when I do fast food or takeout or apps or anything, it is excessive amounts of food and it is like, so most greasiest that I can get. You know, I'm never ordering a salad, so, yeah, I get what you mean yeah, anyway next one um, sorry, I just had something come up here.

Speaker 2:

I'm just trying to clear this notification I also like that.

Speaker 1:

I have a goal with ramzo, because we actually feed off each other. I'll be like, oh, I want pizza, like pizza. They'll be like pizza, it's not good together.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I get what you mean. Brandon and I are the same way.

Speaker 1:

It's just so much easier when you're with somebody.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, stick to a food plan, slash budget.

Speaker 1:

No, I did for a bit, I did a good job for a bit, but no, it went out the window fair.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I feel like two and three kind of go in hand.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, uh, number four fit into my heated vest, no actually I think I went opposite and I have more to work on. It was getting closed and now it's further apart yeah, yeah, I've been there.

Speaker 2:

It's like I want to like my brain's going blank as I'm trying to talk here.

Speaker 1:

I literally bought that I thought of that exact goal two months ago because I was putting my heated vest on for the heated well yeah, I was like I have to put a vest over this vest so that it can stay closed. But like what the hell? Like, oh my god, it just really irritates me that I was like actually getting this goal made me sad, because it's like I was getting so close to like getting it, but then it went away yeah, I get what you mean.

Speaker 2:

I feel like the one thing, though, with these goals is you were in a different state at the start of this year. You know what I mean. Yeah, and it's this year your body just had to take care of you in the way that this year you know what I mean, yeah, and it's this year your body just had to take care of you in the way that it could. You know what I mean, because other things came up and you needed to take care of yourself in a different way, especially mentally, and there was a lot that happened this year. So I think, in the way that goals shifted it's not written on paper, but overall, I still think you did a great job this year, thank you.

Speaker 1:

You did, you what?

Speaker 2:

Sorry.

Speaker 1:

You did fantastic Only on paper.

Speaker 2:

Because that's the thing. At the end of this year I feel like I achieved a lot of what I wrote down, but like I felt, like going into this call, that I didn't accomplish what I wanted to accomplish. So it's like what did I want to actually accomplish this year? You know what I mean?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, our goals definitely shift throughout the year. You know, like I go back and forth all the time, like I've told you that I want to be higher protein, lower carbohydrate in the in the way of carbohydrates being bread, pasta, rice, like the things that really irritate my stomach that I'm like, seriously the fact that you remember when I was in 2020 and I was posting and I was like I don't eat these things because they're really hard on me, and then it's like and I went backwards and I started eating them.

Speaker 1:

it's like I actually haven't felt good since, like 2021 because, those things make me feel like, like lazy, not lazy, like just that I don't want to move because like I'm in pain or something, or like I'm just so, like I'm a zombie. And yet, when I was in 2020, 2021, like I felt like I wanted to live. You know what I mean?

Speaker 2:

like there's a difference like I don't want to die right now, but like there's just a difference yeah, I totally get that, and it's not even a motivation or motive to move.

Speaker 1:

It's like you just feel different yeah, but then I can't stay away from those things because it's like it's and now I understand it. It's just like my binge eating that wants to come out. And I know I can binge on like bread and stuff and also not have to eat as much, but like I'll get the full feeling.

Speaker 2:

Right, I do not know what's going on upstairs. Do I have another goal?

Speaker 1:

Is that all, hello?

Speaker 2:

Sorry. Yes, you did. Sorry. Something's going on upstairs, I was distracted. Yes, you have one more. Be under 300 pounds. Yes, you have one more.

Speaker 1:

Be under 300. Yeah, I know, but listen, I can hear what's going on up there. Is everyone okay?

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, I think it's just red. Oh, okay, I think one of part of mom's company is showing up, so I think it's just red girl, okay, because.

Speaker 1:

I was like is someone attacking them?

Speaker 2:

Because like that, someone attacking them, because like that sounds like thuds, no, no, it's all good, it's all good, um, um.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, that's 2024 yeah, I'm not gonna put weight down this year, nope I said the same thing. Yeah, I, I, because if I have that number, you know I haven't had the like no, I have had the number and I've gone backwards. But I think I'm just gonna focus on day by day, you know, just putting in some effort day by day. And, like you said, I'm gonna do the water thing because I think that's the most important and now I know that having the ice helps yes, yes, send me the ice maker thing yeah, yeah, and also I for sure, and I would love to cut down on coffee and get more into, like matcha lattes or not drink hot coffee, but only cold coffee.

Speaker 1:

Because if I drink cold coffee with the protein shake, I don't use sugar, but if I drink hot coffee I use two scoops of sugar, right For coffee. So I would much rather just I I I haven't found a sugar-free syrup that tastes good in hot, in hot products, because you get more chemically taste when it's in hot sorry, just a sec so good, but like is it still recording?

Speaker 2:

yeah, it's okay, wait, yep, I was getting another call while you were talking. That's why I wanted to make sure.

Speaker 1:

Hopefully. But yeah, I just, I just plan on drinking cold coffees, even if they don't have the protein shake.

Speaker 2:

I just know I won't have to have sugar. Yeah that's fair, so are we going to?

Speaker 1:

write out a list for next year then again and email ourselves.

Speaker 2:

So are we going to write out a list for next year then again and email ourselves? Yes, yes, I'm down. I also have my list of ins and outs that I wrote at the start of this year. Have you seen that trend going around right now of the bingo cards? Yeah, I love that trend. That is cool. Should we do that?

Speaker 1:

I thought about it but then I'm like this is another thing that I have to keep track of. Yeah, I like our lists. I think that they they're like a surprise at the end of the year yes, they are a huge surprise at the end.

Speaker 1:

This one was definitely more of a surprise because I really did not remember anything. I wrote in there and every year I remembered it's age. I'm gonna say, oh also, that's another thing, the whole age thing, like when I talk about my injuries definitely can't do things that like I used to do. I know I'm only 40, but your body is starting to like hate you. Um, I am so sick of the 20 something just going like you don't need to lose weight. You don't need to lose weight.

Speaker 1:

It's like sometimes for some people they do need to lose weight and I am like sometimes for some people they do need to lose weight and I am one of them.

Speaker 1:

I am not coordinated and my legs are not made to hold all this upper body like weight and my doctors have literally gone through every little thing for my injuries of other causes it could be, and I'll never forget my podiatrist saying to me like I'll be, like, like is there anything else I can do? Like to make this plantar fasciitis like go away and whatnot? And he looked up at me he's like you were considering weight loss surgery, right? And I was like yeah, and he's like, and looks back down at his chart and I was like, oh, is that what you're trying to tell me is to lose weight, like? And he's like he just kind of nods and I was like I was like, okay, yeah, no, I get that. I'm like I definitely have been trying, but like I think that like I'm not like obsessed with it. It's just that I know that things could be better possibly if I got that off, and we all know that, like if we got weight off, a lot of different things would improve for some people and it's just like it just bugs me.

Speaker 1:

But then also I'm really grateful for my doctors that they literally went through everything beforehand and then said at the end, like weight loss would help.

Speaker 2:

You know, yeah, Like it's not like. You went in and the first thing they said is well, you need to lose weight. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Like I'm not an idiot. I know that weight loss helps for things. You know like weight loss will help me fit into things better. Like I'm talking about seats. Then you can you get. And yet you can also know that and still be mad at the airlines for not having big enough seats. Do you know what I mean? Like yeah, and when I say taking accountability, I mean it's for the people that can take accountability. You know, there are sometimes people in situations where they can't we know that, where they can't help it, like whether it's medication or whatnot. For me, like binge eating disorder, like there's, there's certain aspects, but for me there's also a way to possibly get help. You know what I mean. Like it's just it's such a big clusterfuck of bullshit. You know that it's just like everyone needs to stop paying attention to everyone else.

Speaker 2:

True.

Speaker 1:

Because it's like we know. We know what we have to do, but it's also the fact that there's different hurdles in front of us that are preventing these things yeah and on it.

Speaker 2:

So one thing this actually came up in a conversation with me and somebody else the other day and somebody else because I have lost weight, people think that they can say things to me that's like well, it's so easy, you've done it, like it's so easy. You know what I mean. And it's like, just because I've done it doesn't mean that it's easy and it's. People will say things like you just need to be in a calorie deficit or you just need to go to the gym more or like stuff like that. Right, and it's just like when people say things like that, they're then talking about other people. You know what I mean. They're saying other people should be able to do this, other people should be able to lose weight just as easily as you did, because it's an easy thing.

Speaker 2:

And my response every time is, first of all, it's not easy and, second of all, what that person is going through. There's so much mental side of things that people don't talk about that you will not achieve what you want to achieve if you don't tackle the mental sides of things, and that's why it's just like when doctors, if your first response is like you just need to lose weight but you don't get any guidance or the mental side or any of that isn't tackled like it's just we know, we know how to do it, we know it's a calorie deficit, we understand that, but the mental side people don't know how to get help with yeah, um, and have you ever noticed something and I'm not saying it's everyone, but the people that always say the things like, oh well, it's easy, or you're not trying hard enough, or you just need to lose weight they all have one personality and it's the gym.

Speaker 1:

The gym is their hobby, and it's like I'm someone that has multiple hobbies and you know what? I don't have the time for the gym because I am doing another hobby. And it's like you prioritize that hobby of yours, or that goal or whatever you want to call it, of going to the gym. But that's not a priority to me because I fucking hate it. Like I hate going to the gym. I find it tedious. I would rather hike a mountain, but I can't because of my injuries. But it's like the gym is their whole personality. So, yeah, they do. They do think that it's easy because it is easy for them, because they like it you know what?

Speaker 1:

We have recorded so much that this is actually going to be its own episode. Oh good, yeah, but I don't think we should keep it on for that much longer, because I don't even know what we've recorded.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and honestly I was supposed to. I had a video I had to edit. I'm going to send you my now that I've been through all my goals and everything. I'm going to send you the picture that I took this morning, cause I took my video for my start of this year to end of this year. I just have to edit it, but I took a quick screenshot of my side-by-side and my front view, my arms. Oh, my gosh, like I could easily knock somebody out.

Speaker 2:

I was not expecting that big of a change in my arms. I love it.

Speaker 1:

I do want to say something to you after this is done recording, so we can just sign off here but yeah, yay to 2024. And we will be back in 2025. We don't know when, because we were barely here for the last part of 2024.

Speaker 2:

no-transcript.

Speaker 1:

All funky like, are we gonna put this one out and then we'll put out the one from when you were visiting probably because if I can get this onto the computer, I don't think I'm gonna have to do much editing, because I just kind of want to keep it as this was a phone call that you guys are just a part of yeah, yeah love it so conference call well, we'll add this here at the end.

Speaker 1:

Then we did record an episode together that was a couch episode where we were in person. I have not edited it yet. I will edit it sometime, but that'll come out after this and I'll put a disclosure beforehand that this was recorded in November. But yeah, merry holidays.

Speaker 2:

Yes everyone Hope Christmas was great and Happy New Year and happy new year and we'll see y'all in 2025. Which is right now, because it's already 2024. And I don't think you'll have this posted today, so Can you imagine if I posted today?

Speaker 1:

I'm just going to put it on my computer right now and just post it and not even edit it. Yeah, just boop.

Speaker 2:

Okay, oh, just boop, okay, oh, man. Well, see you all next year, yay.
